The LA Regional Cleantech Career Academy was designed to spark interest and prepare young Angelenos for cleantech careers. The program includes 12 weeks of paid, work-based learning and at least eight weeks of paid work experience with a local cleantech employer.
20 hours of professional development and work-readiness preparation, which includes UNITE-LA’s:
- Application-Ready & Interview-Ready Courses 
- Job-Ready & Career-Ready Courses 
- Job-Skills Workshops 
And an opportunity to earn a Work-Readiness Certification upon completion.
6 hours of professional work-readiness coaching and mentoring, including:
- Resume review 
- Personal value statements 
- Coaching and mentoring from working professionals 
6 hours of college and career coaching, including:
- L.A. Cash for College – college- and career-readiness workshops 
- College student/graduate coaching and mentoring sessions 
32 hours of career exposure and coaching by industry professionals and staff to help students understand:
- Business development and marketing 
- Business management 
- Green jobs and the green economy 
- In-demand clean technologies 
96 hours of work-based learning and project-based learning focused on clean technologies across:
- Clean energy 
- Solar energy 
- Water 
- Wind 
- Alternative fuels 
Project-based learning and/or internship experience, aligning business with projects:
- Peer group projects 
- Project presentations evaluated by industry partners 
On-the-job training and paid employment with job placement support for:
- 8 to 12 weeks of on-the-job training 
- Summer internships 
- Part-time and full-time employment
